The 45th and 47th President of the United States, he initially distinguished himself as a highly successful businessman and real estate developer. He is the founder of The Trump Organization and gained further recognition as the host of the hit reality television program, *The Apprentice*. In 2024, he secured the Republican nomination for president and subsequently won the general election, assuming the office of the 47th President. During his formative years, he demonstrated athletic prowess at the New York Military Academy, participating in football, soccer, and baseball. He later pursued higher education, graduating from the esteemed Wharton School of Business. He once held ownership of the New Jersey Generals, a team in the United States Football League (USFL) during the 1980s. The league ultimately faced dissolution after an unsuccessful attempt to compete directly with the National Football League (NFL). He survived an assassination attempt on July 13, 2024. He was married to Ivana Trump from 1977 to 1992, followed by Marla Maples from 1993 to 1999. In 2005, he married Melania Trump. He is the father of three sons: Eric, Barron, and Donald Jr., and two daughters, Ivanka and Tiffany. His parents were Mary and Fred Trump. He chose Mike Pence as his running mate for the 2016 presidential campaign and J.D. Vance as his running mate in 2024. In August 2015, he voiced strong criticism of Fox News' Megyn Kelly's questioning during the inaugural Republican debate. Subsequently, he declined to participate in a Fox News debate as a form of protest against the network's perceived unfair treatment.
